डॉ. मंडलेचा म्हणाले, “रुग्णालयांमध्ये आज अद्ययावत वैद्यकीय तंत्रज्ञान, सुविधा आणि शासकीय योजनांचा समावेश करण्यात आला आहे. मात्र, या सुविधांचा लाभ घेणाऱ्यांची संख्या वाढविण्यासाठी आरोग्य जागृती उपक्रम अत्यंत महत्त्वाचे ठरत आहेत. समाजातील गरजू लोकांना मोफत उपचार, तपासण्या, औषधे व इतर सेवा मिळाव्यात, यासाठी आरोग्य जनजागृती प्रभावीपणे कार्य करत आहे.” ते पुढे म्हणाले, “शासनाच्या महात्मा फुले जनआरोग्य योजना, राष्ट्रीय आरोग्य अभियान, मोफत तपासणी शिबिरे, बाल आरोग्य सेवा अशा योजनांची माहिती नागरिकांपर्यंत पोहोचविण्याचे काम या उपक्रमांद्वारे केले जात आहे.
त्यामुळे अधिकाधिक रुग्ण उपचारासाठी पुढे येत असून, याचा थेट फायदा त्यांच्या आरोग्यावर होत आहे.”
डॉ. मंडलेचा यांनी आरोग्य जागृती मोहिमांचे कौतुक करत असे उपक्रम अधिक व्यापक स्तरावर राबवावेत असे मत व्यक्त केले. तसेच, अशा उपक्रमांना महापालिकेच्या वतीने पूर्ण सहकार्य देण्यात येईल, असेही त्यांनी स्पष्ट केले.
